Jan Spooner, our candidate for State House Representative, will be having a meet and greet at Smoky Hill Library at 5430 South Biscay Circle in Centennial this Saturday, August 11th from 2-4 pm. Please try to bring a friend who may be an inactive Democrat, unaffiliated, or even an open-minded Republican with you to get to know our NEXT Representative from House District 37!
The Pat Schroeder Dinner is coming up very soon! It will be held on Saturday, August 18th at the Red Lion Hotel which is near Parker Rd. and I 225. Cocktails and the silent auction will begin at 5:30 pm and dinner begins at 7 pm. There will be beef, chicken, and vegetarian entrees to choose from. As a House District, we have decided to donate a "gift card basket" to the silent auction. Please contact me ASAP to donate for this basket. You can donate a gift card of any money amount from any business you choose or you can get cash to me and I will be happy to purchase the gift cards for you. Even if you can only donate a small amount, I can combine the donations to purchase gift cards. The speaker for the dinner will be Wisconsin State Senator Jon Erpenbach who lead the walkout of the Wisconsin Senate Democrats against Governor Scott Walker. Senator Erpenbach is a wonderful speaker and is strongly supportive of American working families. Please go to www.arapahoedems.org for more information on how to purchase tickets to this fun event!
Also, a reminder that our next House District meeting will be held on the 4th Tuesday of the month as usual. This month, on Tuesday, August 28th, we will be meeting at a NEW LOCATION!!!! We are going to try alternating between the west and east sides of our district, so we will be meeting at Casa Vallarta Mexican Restaurant at 4002 S. Parker Rd. (near Quincy) in Aurora. The meeting starts at 7 pm and we will have a speaker from The White House Project. Feel free to come early to eat, drink, and socialize. We will plan to meet back at C.B. & Potts in September. I hope to see you all there! Please come to meet your fellow activists and feel free to bring a friend!
