#1 VOLUNTEER for your Local Candidates
We have an exceptional slate of Democratic candidates this year.  As HD37 Chair, my focus is our HD37 State Candiates.  Remember, a vote for the local Dem is a vote for Obama and all Dems!

Here are ways you can help (Please see EXHIBIT A, B, & C):
Exhibit A:  Diana Holland (running for House District 37 State Representative) www.dianaholland.com CONTRIBUTE on-line to Diana's campaign.
On-going HD37 Candidate Diana Holland LIVE Phone Bank at the office of attorney Bev Ballantine in the heart of HD37 at University and Arapahoe. THIS WEEK we will meet TUESDAY THRU FRIDAY (10-21 to 10-24) from 6 to 8 p.m. for phone calling.
Directions to Bev Ballantine's office:
6601 S. University Blvd #100
Centennial, CO 80121
Located just north of Arapahoe Road on the west side of University.
If you are able to help with these live calls, please contact Diana Holland's campaign manager Terry Scanlon at terscanlon@gmail.com or 303-957-8137 cell or 303-471-5348 home.

MEET on Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. (note later time) at the King Soopers parking lot on the SW corner of University and Dry Creek. Join your fellow Dems and Diana to canvass door-to-door about 2 hours - you'll be home in time for lunch! PLEASE rsvp to Terry Scanlon so Diana's campaign can plan for the walk - 303-471-5349 or 303-957-8137 cell or terscanlon@gmail.com. Diana walks each Saturday at 9:30 a.m. plus many other days as well.

Linda has yard signs available and is canvassing Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays at 4:30 p.m. AND Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. and again at 2:30 p.m.  MEET at Woodlawn Shopping Center Littleton Blvd. and Windermere on Saturdays and Sundays.  MEET at Littleton High School on Tuesday and Heritage High School on Thursdays.  SPECIAL GOTV push on Monday, Novemer 3 - meet at Woodlawn Shopping Center at 4 p.m.  Visit Linda's web site calendar for more information and maps to locations.  DONATIONS are accepted ON-LINE as well.

EXHIBIT C:  Nathan Wilkes (running for State Senate District 27) www.nathanwilkes.com or call 720-482-7821
Yard signs are available by calling or visiting Nathan's web site.  ALSO, he could use help with funding several mailings he is planning.  You may donate to his campaign on-line.

#2 Virtual PHONE Bank. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORANT STEP IN THIS ELECTION.
You may remember that in 2006, we lost HD37 state rep by only 800 votes - there were 900 UNRETURNED DEMOCRAT MAIL IN BALLOTS. That can't happen this year. We are making phone calls to those who have requested mail in ballots - making sure they receive them, vote DEMOCRAT and return them right away. We have about 20 HD37ers making calls to Registered Dems in HD37 who have requested mail in ballots - WE NEED MORE HELP to reach everyone we can.

Virtual Phone Banking (VPB): We are now set up for virtual phone banking (VPB) - if you have access to the internet and a separate phone, you can do this at home by accessing the VAN system. It's REALLY easy and can be done anytime from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. If you have VAN access (www.coloradovan.com) - take a look a the set up under Virtual Phone Bank on the home page. HD37 has TWO combinations for the VPB: SD26 Newell/HD37 Holland OR SD27 Wilkes/HD37 Holland. You'll see instructions and a script when you log on. These calls are all registered Dems who have requested mail-in ballots. You just make the phone calls that come up - check off the boxes on the page - and move on!
If you do not have a username and password, I can set that up for you - just email me - vineta@aol.com.

The Arapahoe County Dems will also be doing ROBO CALLS all registered Democrats regarding mail in ballots and early voting.

#3 VOTE EARLY
I know all of you are going to vote (or have already voted). Your job is to get someone who is thinking about waiting until November 4th to vote this week. Arapahoe County early voting is 10-20-08 through 10-31-08. Please help me spread the word and get people to early vote. It is very easy to find early voting centers. All you have to do is visit the weblink listed below and find your county! If they are too busy to vote during the week, let them know that Arapahoe County votes on Saturday, October 25!

# 4 Political Sign Problems
A few incidents of sign theft and defacement have been reported, as well as ILLEGAL signs in right of way areas.  Remember signs can ONLY be placed on private property with permission.  PLEASE do not remove signs yourself - instead, call Centennial code enforcement at 303-754-3320.
You can also use this form http://centennialcolorado.com/forms.asp?fid=54 to report illegal signs.

And if a sign is defaced or stolen, report them to the Arapahoe County Sheriff's non-emergency number: 303-795-4711.

#5  Meet and Greet for Hank Eng, Linda Newell, and Diana Holland 10-25-08

PCPs for Precinct 221 Linda Rinehart and John Holley have organized a Meet and Greet Social Coffee Event for the above candidates on Saturday, October 25 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Linda's home located at 7571 S. Cove Circle.  Space is limited, so please RSVP to 720-283-0381.
