When I was young, I was taught that if you work hard and play by the rules, your unique version of the American Dream can come true.
Sadly, too many Coloradoans' dreams are being pushed out-of-reach by rising prices: skyrocketing college tuition, increasing health care costs and even sticker shock at the gas pump, just to name a few. The harsh reality is that families are struggling to address significant debt amid stagnate wages. Making matters worse, right now, House Republicans are voting to dismantle Medicare.
I am running for Congress in Colorado's soon-to-be-formed, competitive, 6th Congressional District because I want to restore job growth and economic growth so every Coloradoan can achieve their unique version of the American Dream. As I have in the Colorado State House of Representatives, I will continue to focus on creating more educational and economic opportunities, such as much needed help to small business owners so they can access loans, create jobs and grow.
As your Congressman, I will fight to make Colorado the Renewable Energy Capital of our Country. We must win our freedom from foreign oil to create a secure future for the United States of America. I will also honor our commitment to Social Security and Medicare, insist on fair trade with China and focus on world-class schools that emphasize critical thinking skills, not standardized testing. We must prepare our students to compete and win in a global economy.

- Make sure that creating good paying, private sector jobs for all Coloradans is Congress's #1 priority.
- Increase security, especially by protecting Medicare and Social Security.
- Balance the budget responsibly through shared sacrifice, closing excessive corporate loopholes and by encouraging corporations to hire more American workers, instead of shipping jobs overseas.
- Promote freedom from foreign oil and work towards energy independence.
I bring a well-rounded professional background to the race. It includes six years of technology, business development experience, in which I helped start an Internet software company, nearly four years of civic experience working for Project C.U.R.E., the most amazing organization in the world that provides donated medical supplies and equipment to hospitals in over 120 developing nations, and 12 years of public policy and political experience, including three years of Colorado legislative experience working across party lines to get things done in the Colorado House of Representatives.

My opponent, Congressman Mike Coffman, has a very different vision. Self described, Tea Party member recklessly voted not once, but twice, for two radical bills that would have destroyed Medicare as we know it. Recently, the Bloomberg Report and the Census Bureau reported that Colorado's 6th congressional district would have been the 10th most negatively impacted congressional district in the entire country and caused 74,000 residents to lose Medicare and pay an additional $6,400 a year. This is not representing the district.
In Congress, Coffman has continued his quest for a radical social agenda including a recent vote to empower federal agents of the IRS to intimidate women who choose to have an abortion even in the most serious life threatening situations.
These are just a couple of his out-of-touch votes. These are not values I share nor do most Coloradoans.
