Subject: Kickoff for Coalition to Defeat Amdts. 60 & 61 and Prop. 101
As you are aware, this year's November ballot will contain three ballot measures that, if approved by the voters, will impose devastating financial limits on your organization and services. While this has prompted many of you to develop ways to inform your constituents about these ballot issues, it seems that working together in a coordinated effort would greatly benefit our efforts. To that end the League of Women Voters of Arapahoe County Voters of Arapahoe County and the ArapaHOPE Community Team have suggested the formation of a non-partisan Arapahoe County Coalition to work together to inform the voters on the adverse effects of Amendments 60 and 61 and Proposition 101.
The purpose of this Coalition would be to share information, plans, and ideas, and implement other efforts to defeat the three ballot issues this November, as well as ensure such efforts are coordinated for maximum effect. It is vitally important these issues are soundly defeated!
We invite you to learn more about this effort by asking you, or a representative from your organization, to attend an initial meeting Tuesday, July 13 from 7 – 9 p.m. at the South Metro Chamber of Commerce, 6840 S. University Blvd., Centennial, CO 80122. John Brackney and Ken Wyble of the Chamber have agreed to host the meeting, and a representative from the Bell Policy Center will be available to provide additional information.
Invitees include all the school districts, libraries, cities, park districts, and other governmental entities in Arapahoe County.
