Last Monday night the City Council asked the staff to get specific prices for all elements of the proposed City Center Park. The plan is to bring these prices to council in June or July. In the interim, staff will continue searching for funding (both additional grants and partnership with other governmental agencies that have a vested interest in the park). It will also give us time to present to the public an accelerated funding plan to use since building materials are at a much lower cost right now than they have been or are expected to be.
Rick and I plan to hold a District 1 Meeting on June 9, 2010 at 6:00 PM MT, at the South Metro Chamber of Commerce. At the meeting we plan to talk to the City Park accelerated Funding plan, the Marijuana permitting plan and have a recap of city accomplishments.
On this coming Monday, May 17, 2010, at 6:00 PM MT, during the study session, the City Attorney will present information on possible laws to govern medical marijuana in the City of Centennial. I am going to have to listen to the facts before I can decide what we should do. You can come to the study session to hear the presentation but public address will be held during the regular session scheduled for 7:00 PM MT. I'd also appreciate you letting me know your thoughts on medical marijuana dispensaries in the city.
Remember, a closed mouth cannot be fed (wish I knew who said that too).
