CD 6 ASSEMBLY and PICNIC

CD 6 ASSEMBLY and PICNIC

ALL CANDIDATES AND FLERLAGE SUPPORTERS ARE INVITED

The Congressional District 6 Assembly is scheduled for Saturday, May 8, 2010, with check-in at 8:30 am and start at 9:30 am, Highlands Ranch High School, 9375 Cresthill Lane, Highlands Ranch, CO  80126.  Flerlage for Congress has extended an invitation to all Dem candidates running in CD 6 to make an appearance and address the delegates.

All Flerlage volunteers and supporters, whether a delegate or not, are invited to attend  this important gathering of Democrats in support of John Flerlage's remarkable journey from neighborhood activist to his Party's designee for United States Congress for CD 6.

Following the Assembly, please join John and staff for a picnic at Cougar Run Park in Highlands Ranch, in celebration of John's nomination. There will be plenty of food and drink, fun and games for all ages (no speeches).  Bring the kids, dogs (on leash), your neighbors, co-workers, friends and anyone else who wants to get to know John and his hard working staff and volunteers.  Hope to see you there!

Additionally, I wanted to get these changes to you for the info sent yesterday from Andrea.  I'll work to hold the number of messages to a minimum.

A reader just reminded me about one item I forgot to include in my last update and a City Councilmember asked me to send out another.

Centennial Airport Community Noise Roundtable is Wednesday, 5 May.
Place and time were correct.

1. 1 May, Centennial Airport Community Noise Roundtable public "hearing". 7 pm at the hotel just north of the Centennial Ariport control tower.

2. As Centennial dives into its search for retail businesses in the City that are not complying with Centennial sales tax law, we are requesting that citizens become the eyes of the City. As you buy items from establishments in our City, please check your receipts. Centennial sales tax is 2.5%. There are still quite a few retailers out there that are charging Littleton, Englewood, Greenwood Village and Aurora sales tax (3%) that are cheating you out of money in doing that. There are also large retailers outside of Centennial where you buy items and have them delivered to your home in Centennial that are doing the same thing. You are losing money in these transactions (and in the case of delivery retailers, that can be a sizable number), Centennial is losing money to other cities that do nothing to improve your City with your money.

Please, email info@centennialcolorado.com when you find these businesses so we can put them on our list for audits. You won't get your money back but Centennial will get ALL of the money that was remitted to the wrong jurisdiction.

Centennial has one full time staff person dedicated to finding these businesses, so we can sure use 70,000 sets of eyes to help this situation.

Thanks for your help!
