Many of you have offered to volunteer to work with me on the campaign for the special election for the City of Centennial District 1 City Council seat. I truly thank you for the volunteer statements and we have worked out a schedule for reaching the voters with my message. We need to do this within the next six weeks. I am asking for your volunteer help starting this Saturday (tomorrow).
Our schedule is made and we will be walking and talking to citizens throughout the district. We will meet each Saturday morning from this Saturday, 9-12-09 through Saturday, 10-31-09, to pass out the lists of neighborhood addresses to reach with literature.
Where – Streets at Southglenn parking lot directly West of Sears (in the parking garage 1st floor for inclement weather)
When - Saturday mornings September 12, 2009, through October 31, 2009
Time – 9:00 AM MT
In deference to your busy schedules we plan to give you the lists and literature and you can distribute the literature either that Saturday/Sunday or at your leisure as long as you let us know when you are complete (hopefully by the following Friday).
I will be walking and talking every afternoon from now to November 3, 2009.
My overriding issue is to maintain our quality of life and standard of living using reasonable and reasoned approaches to all issues. The best way to reach these objectives is to:
1. Work for Planned Economic Development to keep our property values up and our taxes down
2. Land Use Plans – specifically Southglenn to retain the character of the neighborhoods
3. Foster transparent, responsive, and responsible government
4. Promote city efforts in road and right of way maintenance and beautification
I can effectively work for these issues from day one without the normal one year learning curve. Please help if you can and thanks again.
