Health Care Reform Team Announcement
We have work to do. At a recent house party, Senator Bennet's aide revealed that their office had taken 135 calls against health care reform. We need to counter their message by delivering our own.
The following phone banks have been scheduled to help us reach out to our neighbors to find other like-minded folks that aren't already involved, as well as to our elected officials to hear our repeated message of urgency. Join us if you can and bring your own cell phone. We will have lists of friendly people to call.
Plans include the following phone banks:
Wednesday 8/5/09 – 5pm-8pm South Glenn Library
Saturday 8/8/09 – 1pm-3pm Koelbel Library Meeting Rooms A & B
Thursday 8/13/09 – 6pm-8pm South Glenn Library Meeting Room A
Saturday 8/15/09 – 1-3pm Koelbel Library Meeting Room A & B
Saturday 8/22/09 – 1-3:30pm South Glenn Library Meeting Room A
Saturday 8/29/09 – 11am-4:30pm Koelbel Library Meeting Room A
Plus we need volunteers to go to public places like The Taste of Colorado, and other places to get signatures on our petition. How many of you will take on this work?
Plus we need to recruit volunteers like crazy to call Congresspersons on a daily basis to support health care reform efforts. Who will take this on and follow through to see how many people they can get to pledge at least 5 calls or emails?
Plus we will be going to town halls put on by our Congresspersons while they are home on break - if we can't be there, we've got to try to make sure many supporters are. Otherwise, the anti-reformers are going to be very painful this August - and they always get a lot of press unless we can balance them. Who will take this on?
